The Sankofa Philosophy on the Camino

This retreat is rooted in the same philosophy that guides my work at Sankofa Massage and Coaching. It's a living expression of Sankofa, the wisdom that we move forward by learning from where we have been. As you walk this journey, you are invited to meet your past with compassion, gather the insight it holds, and carry it forward with clarity and intention.

This experience is designed to support you before, during, and after the Camino. Through a blend of:

  • Intentional walking

  • Reflective coaching

  • Optional bodywork

  • Supported community

This is not a standalone experience; you are learning how to integrate the lessons into your life.

Support on the Camino

Walking creates space. Coaching helps you listen to what arises. As your body settles into the rhythm of the trail, thoughts, questions and memories often surface naturally. Coaching offers gentle structure for that process.

  • Prepare: Prepare physically, mentally, and set intentions

  • Activate: Reflect through conversation, journaling, and quiet moments

  • Integrate: Incorporate what you've discovered into your daily life

This is how the journey continues long after you’ve returned home.

MASSAGE & BODYWORK

Walking day after day asks a lot of the body. Optional massage and bodywork are offered to:

  • Support recovery

  • Relieve muscle tension

  • Restore balance in the body to help you stay grounded and present

When the body feels supported, the journey becomes more sustainable and deeply felt.

The Camino de Santiago is more than a walk; it’s a journey that transforms you from the inside out. My first pilgrimage in 2023 on the Frances route was one of the most profound and transformative experiences of my life. Since then, I’ve completed two more caminos and a portion of the Via de la Plata in my spiritual journey. So, I understand the physical, emotional, and reflective nature of the pilgrimage.

With years of experience traveling globally, planning and leading travel adventures, I’ve found my purpose in helping women embrace this sacred path with courage, community, and curiosity. The Camino is truly something special, a journey you must experience to understand.
